
Advisory Services for Digitainability in the Agri-Food Supply Chain
On June 5th, at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, the University of Foggia, the University of Cagliari and the University of Naples Federico II took part in the press conference “Advisory Services for Digitainability in the Agri-Food Supply Chain” upon the invitation of Hon Maria Chiara Gadda, Vice President of the XIII Agriculture Commission of the Chamber of Deputies. Hon Gadda is widely recognized for her contribution to Law No. 166/2016—commonly known as the “Gadda Law”—which promotes the donation and distribution of food and pharmaceutical products for social solidarity and waste reduction.
The event brought together experts from academia and the business sector who shared experiences and knowledge to support local producers, with a particular focus on the application of blockchain technology in the wine and extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) supply chains. Among the innovations presented were key results from the PRIN project “WEBEST” and the Horizon Europe project “CORENET,” both aimed at enhancing traceability and sustainability through advanced digital solutions.
Speakers at the event were Prof. Mariantonietta Fiore, Prof. Roberto Tonelli, Dr. Fedele Colantuono, Dr. Maria Rosaria Maschio, a company representative from ELDA Wineries and others, who highlighted real-world examples of technological innovation and digital transformation in agri-food systems.
